The Paul Taylor Dance Company will perform at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Smith Opera House, 82 Seneca St., Geneva.
The company has performed in more than 500 cities in all 50 states and in more than 60 countries for the U.S. Department of State. The company also has nine appearances on PBS to its credit.
Taylor 2, a smaller ensemble, is currently completing an extended residency in Geneva, during which the company will work with children in Geneva and Romulus public schools through gym classes, master classes and performances.
The performance will be presented by the main company following a pre-concert talk at 7:15 p.m. The program will cover a broad section of Paul Taylor's emotional and textural range, from the sculptural and stylized “Images,” set to Debussy, to the heroic “Promethean Fire,” set to Bach. “Changes,” Taylor's latest dance, is set to songs by the Mamas and the Papas.
Tickets to the concert are $25 for adults and $10 for full-time college students with ID. For more information, call 781-LIVE or visit www.genevaconcerts.org.
