On Sunday, Aug. 31, my band, The Blue Lights, for the fourth time again had the privilege of entertaining the people of Auburn and Cayuga County. All 3,500-plus who attended would agree a wonderful time was had by all. People saw acquaintances they had not seen in years and shared memories of years past, and all for free.
All of this was made possible by one man, Dr. Joseph F. Karpinski Sr. Dr. Joe, as he is affectionately known, shares a feeling I have, a good event helps a community become closer and happier for all age groups, especially in these hard times in which we live.
Dr. Joe is a treasure to the community and his efforts and generosity have made this annually possible. I know I speak for the community as a whole and members of The Blue Lights Band, when I say thank you once again. God bless you Doctor and may God watch over you for all you do. Thank you again and “stolat!”
Everyone mark your calendar for next year, the Sunday before Labor Day, Sept. 6, 2009. Dr. Joe has already reserved the date one more time!
