CSJ Vineyard plans harvest weekend
CSJ Vineyards will hold an early harvest weekend from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20 and 21, at the winery, 6900 Fosterville Road, Auburn.
Visitors can see winemaking in progress and view the early ripening varieties.

Montezuma winery to hold hoedown
The harvest season will be celebrated during the Harvest Hoedown from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Montezuma Winery, 2981 Auburn Road, Seneca Falls.
Activities include a barbecue by Moes Pit BBQ & Cowboy Cuisine, a farm market of seasonal produce including apples, winter squash, jams and jellies, maple and honey products plus baked goods, kettle corn and wine. A petting zoo and music will also be featured.

SS. Peter and John to serve pancakes
A pancake breakfast will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Sept. 21, at SS. Peter and John Church, 169 Genesee St., Auburn.
Cost is $5 for adults and includes a raffle. Children 6 and younger can eat for free.
Elks Lodge plans chicken barbecue
A chicken barbecue will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Auburn Elks Lodge, 314 State St., Auburn.
A chicken dinner is $8 or half chicken orders will be sold for $4. For more information, call 252-4351.
Wells site of Native American Festival
The Peachtown Native American Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, on the front lawn of the main building of Wells College in Aurora. The festival is free and open to the public and will be held rain or shine.
The event will feature buffalo burgers, Indian tacos, fried corn bread and other authentic foods available from Rhonda Powless of Iroquois Kitchen and Pam Ramsey of Happy Eating Grounds. Music, crafts and more will also be provided.

Taste of Home to hold cooking class
Watch Chef Dawn Tyson-Silvera demonstrate 10 recipes on stage complete with helpful tips and tricks of the trade during the Taste For Home Cooking School to be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, in the Auburn High School Auditorium, Lake Avenue, Auburn.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and the demo will begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 each and include admission, a canvas bag filled with goodies, food samples, local vendors and door prizes. Tickets are available at The Citizen, 25 Dill St., Auburn, or by phone at 253-5311 ext. 213.
Port Byron church plans turkey dinner
A turkey dinner with all the trimmings be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Port Byron Federated Church, Port Byron.
This community sponsored event is a fundraiser for the Port Byron Food Pantry and all proceeds will go toward feeding the hungry in the community. Cost is $8 for adults. Eat in or take out.
