Core of the nation ruined by Woodstock beliefs

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 11:40 PM EDT

As an elder, I've witnessed nationalism as a mighty affirmation of life and with a sense of unshakable rootedness. We as a nation were a totality of men united through a community of fate into a community of character.
All of this was destroyed by the infamous Woodstock generation who professed a hard core of interpretation surrounded by a pulp of disputable facts. This conflict between liberty and authority has left us with only a picture of human despair and misfortune.

Now with the question of survival. To begin, we must confess that the chief cause of our misery is less the violence of our passions than the feebleness of our virtues.

" The woodstock generation was realistic enough to know that our nation had it's faults and wanted to do something about creating a more perfect nation. It was our love of our country and what it could be that drove us to action. The results are that minorities have an active part in our nation and woman's rights and equality have come to fruition. We also can question authority when it goes counter to the ideals of our nation. We still have a way to go, but by the direction we got from the woodstock generation I only see a better future. "
