Nugget
Breed: Domestic Short Hair; white with orange spots

Age: About 8 weeks

Comments from the SPCA: Nugget has recently rejoined the shelter. He was in foster care for many weeks fighting off sickness - and really big cats! He conquered both thanks to his kind foster mother, and he is now ready for adoption.

Nugget was found abandoned, in a box, at a local market. He was about 1-week-old. His foster mom bottle fed him, got him through a bout with pneumonia and then introduced him to the resident “big cats.” Nugget learned very quickly to defend himself, and he is a little scrapper all the way around. However, he still loves to cuddle and purrs on demand, and he is adorable! His picture just doesn't do him justice.

Nugget has had his first kitten vaccinations, has been vaccinated against feline kennel cough and has been wormed and flea treated. He is still much too young for his first rabies vaccination or to be neutered, which are items his new guardian must take care of.

Nugget is available for adoption right now. To learn more, call the shelter at 253-5841.

Each Sunday, The Citizen features a pet which is available for adoption.

This week, we spotlight Nugget from the Finger Lakes SPCA.

Q. Who is your best friend?

A. I made some really good cat friends at that other place. They were all my best friends.

Q. Do you know any special tricks?

A. I learned to hide from those big cats I used to live with, and they could never find me. Is that a trick?

Q. Do you get along with other animals?

A. Yes. I do.

Q. Who do you prefer, adults or children?

A. I've never met any children. Right now, I prefer adults.

Q. How often do you like to be groomed?

A. Not very often, please!

Q. What has been your worst experience?

A. I do have a vague memory of being put into a small box and dumped in a parking lot. That was pretty bad.

Q. When you go to your new home, what is the first thing you want to do?

A. I want to look around to see if there are any “big” cats living there.

Q. Do you have any advice for The Citizen's readers?

A. No. I'm much too little to be giving anyone advice.
