Local rivals clash on grass
The Port Byron boys cross country team may have boasted the biggest highlight of the day, but it was Weedsport that swept the boys' and girls' races on Wednesday.
The Panthers' Christian Cobb set a new course record, taking first place (16:47) in the team's first meet of the season but could not keep the Panthers from losing the boys' meet, 20-43 in Port Byron.
“Despite Christian taking first, Weedsport was able to place their next five to push us out,” Port Byron head coach Mike Hermann said.
