Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. has initiated a voluntary recall for bagel products made in the store and sold over an approximately two-week period, the company announced Tuesday.
Any bagels or bialys (flat bagels with toppings) that were sold in the store bakery between Aug. 29 and Sept. 9 may be returned to Wegmans for a full refund.
This does not include pre-packaged Wegmans' bagels.
According to the company release, the bagels could contain pieces of a metal spring from a mixer at the main bakery in Rochester.
Approximately 1,011 cases in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland stores may have been affected, though no injuries have been reported in relation to the bagels, according to the release.
Any questions about the recall should be directed to (585) 464-4760 or (800) 934-6267.
