The landscape works of artist Robert Heischman will be shown from Monday, Sept. 8 through Oct. 11 at SUNY Geneseo's Lockhart Gallery, 26 Main St., Geneseo. The Lockhart Gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays.
The exhibition will be highlighted by the seventh annual Lockhart Gala from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the gallery. Tickets to the gala are $35. Heischman plans to attend the event, which will benefit the gallery's programs and exhibitions.
Heischman is a professor of art at the Rochester Institute of Technology. His works depict formal gardens that highlight architectural design, light and shadow in both natural and geometric forms.
“This artist has extraordinary color sensibility, particularly evident in the variety of greens in his paintings, and we are pleased to be displaying his work,” said Cynthia Hawkins, Geneseo's director of galleries. “The exhibit also will include several paintings of the sandy California coast to provide contrast to the garden greenery.”
Admission is free. For more information, call (585) 245-5779.
