Separate North Country fires leave two dead

ADAMS CENTER - One woman was killed and another hospitalized with serious burns after fire engulfed their northern New York home.

Meanwhile, authorities were investigating a suspicious fire in Franklin County that left a man dead.

Fire officials had not yet released the name of the victim in the fire in Adams Center, a Jefferson County community about 70 miles north of Syracuse.
