Auburn is very fortunate to have a minor league baseball team that has won our division for the past six years and also won the championship last year. We also have a football team that won the state championship in 2006. Not many communities can say that.

Auburn also has an orchestra (Auburn Chamber Orchestra) that has four concerts a year. We are all volunteers who live in and support our community. We have been playing for 20-plus years. When the baseball team asked the community for support, you came through.

The Auburn Chamber Orchestra is asking the community for support. We realize that prices on everything are going up. The board members will be going to businesses to place an ad in our program. If you feel you cannot do that maybe a donation will place your name on our small business page.

We try to keep our expenses down as much as possible. If you are an individual and would like to donate, send your donation with name and address to: Auburn Chamber Orchestra, 17 Nelson St., Auburn, NY 13021. We will place your name in our program.

Our first concert will be 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Auburn Alliance Church on North Seward Avenue.
