Blue Devils knock off champs

WEEDSPORT - After a grueling game that went into overtime, neither Weedsport nor Moravia were willing to concede any ground in the championship game of the Cayuga County Field Hockey Tournament at Weedsport High School Saturday morning.

With just 7:21 left in overtime, Moravia 10th grader Hannah Mackey broke through the Weedsport's brick wall defense and snuck a shot by goalie Kaitlin Hammersley to give Moravia the tournament title, 1-0.

Mackey also took home the tournament's MVP trophy.
