I would like to know why The Citizen newspaper does not have any coverage of our local competition marching band Auburn Vanguard. We march approximately 120 kids in various competitions around New York, we finished second in the state last year and still no coverage.
The kids just finished a grueling week of band camp where they rehearsed and learned the drill for eight hours daily, yet all that gets attention are the two-a-day drills the football team does.
This is a great experience for them in that they have to learn teamwork and leadership. They have a great staff of people including the band director who has been with them for approximately 30 years and continues to come up with new ideas. The music boosters are trying their hardest to raise funds in support of the band with various fundraisers.
Now we get better coverage (elsewhere) than we do our own local paper, could you please explain this to our kids.
