Amy Sanchez led the Weedsport field hockey team to a 3-2 double overtime win over Auburn in the Cayuga County Tournament, Friday.
With the win, the Warriors play Moravia in the championship game at 9 a.m., today at Weedsport High School.
Sanchez recorded a hat trick and scored the winning goal just forty seconds into double overtime. The winning goal was assisted by Brittany LaForce. Sanchez led her team from a 2-0 deficit with just over three minutes left in the first half. Her second goal was assisted by Sharra Brentlinger to tie the game up. Kaitlyn Hammersley saved eight shots.
For the Maroons, Katie Lupo struck first with an unassisted goal. Kristen Cunningham scored the second one, while Sarah Reese had three saves.
Moravia 3, Union Springs 0
Jen McLean led the Blue Devils with a goal and an assist in their win in the Cayuga County Tournament. McLean assisted Hannah MacKey to record the first goal. Her goal was assisted by Emily Gaston, while Maria Heffernan scored the final goal. Amanda Stone had two saves. The Wolves' Katie Smith saved 20 shots.
Port Byron 3. Cato-Meridian 2, OT
Nica Dare's unassisted goal in overtime led the Panthers past the Blue Devils. Chastity Wilcox led the team with two goals and Kellie Redmond saved two shots.
Autumn Bullard scored the first goal for the Blue Devils with the assist by Amy Thomas. Tara Pickard finished with a goal, while Chelsea Terpening had 11 saves.

Randy Hoyt led the Blue Devils with six saves.

Alex Blackman scored the Wolves' goal with the assist by Amanda Cuff. Lindsey Artman saved five shots in the net.
