Homeless have a place to go for help in Auburn

Friday, August 29, 2008 12:18 AM EDT

I was talking to Father Shaw about the home for the homeless and I was so happy to hear that they do have a lot of poor homeless people that use the home and they all are happy to have a place to go to when they are in need of a place to stay in for the night and it makes me feel so happy when we can do some good for people. The way things are going today I don't know how some people can survive especially the ones that have big families. The gasoline is going sky high, food prices are getting to be impossible to feed a family any more.
I don't know what's going to happen to all of us. This world is getting so bad. I feel so bad for people who have to go out of town for jobs. On pay day the check must go for gas. What do they do for food? Something has got to happen soon before something really bad happens. God help us all. I just don't know how people are going to survive.

Thank God we have a home for some of our poor souls. Thank you, Father Shaw.

" Oh, jeez--forgot this one too Karl--The Clintons making millions per year, and she's asking the general public to help her pay off her debts from campaigning. That doesn't help people pay the mortgage. Plus I think its wrong for them to own more than one house Karl---MORE THAN ONE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!! "

" Again, Karl knows all-----So what if John owns eight homes. Are you saying that any wealthy American should be ashamed of owning more than one house? I own two homes, and I am not ashamed, nor am I going to give either to the homeless. Many homeless people are homeless by: choice, their own stupidity, or any combination of the two. I am glad to help anyone in need, and give generously to anyone whom I believe is trying to help themselves. Our federal government (Bush Administration) gives billions of dollars every year to help. They can't help it if people are making bad financial decisions. FYI-I feel badly for people who have no control. "

" Oooh that evil GW Bush...who by the way in 2006 alone, $28.5 billion was allotted to homeless programs ran through HUD (Housing and Urban Development). $1 billion given for Section 8 housing, and $1.4 billion for Homeless Assistance Grants. "

" Wow Rose, you are "so happy to hear that they do have a lot of poor homeless people that use the home"???

Isnt this like saying you are glad that a lot of sick people are using the hospital?

I am glad there is a homeless shelter, but I am greatly saddened that one is needed in our Great Society. "
