The Auburn Doubledays scored four runs in the fifth inning and totaled 11 hits, but once again, they could not overcome an early deficit, and ended up losing 11-9 to Jamestown on Sunday.
It marks the eighth consecutive loss for Auburn, which is a season high. The Doubledays hadn't lost eight straight in either of the previous two seasons, either.

The Doubledays' starting pitching continued to struggle, as Marcus Walden walked three, allowed five hits and five runs in just three innings of work.

It was Chuck Huggins who suffered his first loss of the season, however.

Down 8-3, Auburn tallied four runs in the fifth -including McDade's three run shot - to pull within one of the Jammers.

The Doubledays then took a 9-8 lead after the sixth, but Huggins allowed three runs in the seventh to give Jamestown the lead for good.

The Doubledays have not been able to get a win this season when they are trailing after eight frames.

McDade broke out of a major slump with the hit, but it was his only one of the night, as he went 1-for-5.

Carlos Vasquez had two RBIs on one hit, Adam Amar went 3-for-5 with a run batted in and Leance Soto roped two hits and brought in one run.

Bartolo Nicolas slammed two hits, while catcher Karim Turkamani and outfielder Brian Van Kirk each earned an RBI.

Vasquez, Van Kirk and Nicolas each smacked an extra base hit to bring Auburn out of its scoring slump.

With the loss, the Doubledays fall to .500 at 31-31 and will look to avoid their third straight series sweep tonight against the Jammers.
