A local man admitted in Cayuga County Court Thursday that he stole more than $55,000 from his employer between 2003 and 2005.

Robert Trumbull, 48, of 48 Logan St., Auburn, faces five years of probation after he pleaded guilty to felony grand larceny.

Trumbull will be required to pay $10,000 in restitution to Oak Creek Apartments for an insurance deductible which only covered $45,000 of the stolen money.

Trumbull admitted that he kept the rent that tenants paid in cash and attempted to hide the missing payments by shifting the business' funds to conceal the stolen money.

Trumbull will be sentenced on Oct. 9.

Also in court:

* A Cato man admitted that he had posed as a member of the Cayuga County District Attorney's Office in order to raise money for bail while he was being held in the Cayuga County Jail.

Eduardo Camacho or “Eddie Cruz,” 34, of 10669 Jordan Road, Cato, pleaded guilty to criminal impersonation of a public official, a misdemeanor, and to forging a credit card, a felony.

While in jail on charges that he forged and possessed a stolen credit card, Camacho admitted he called county residents to obtain their personal information so he could raise $5,000 in cash for his bail.

Two codefendants, Jessi L. Vasquez, 19, and Joshua M. Abrams, 20, both of 656 School St., Skaneateles Falls, were also arrested in connection to the impersonation charges.

Camacho will be sentenced on Oct. 9.

* A Baldwinsville man pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of sex abuse and one misdemeanor count of acting in a manner to injure a child.

Michael Hirsh, 27, 131 Dog Leg Drive, Baldwinsville, is accused of forcibly touching a 12-year-old on Dec. 14, 2007.

* An Aurora woman pleaded guilty to felony grand larceny and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Tracey Mosher, 39, of 330 Ellis Point Road, Aurora, admitted that she stole a purse with a credit card on Dec. 26, 2007, while she was shopping at the Fingerlakes Mall with her son. Mosher used the credit card to make nearly $80 in purchases, which she will have to pay back as part of her sentence.

When she is sentenced on Oct. 9, Mosher is expected to be sentenced to five years probation and placed into a drug treatment court.

* A local man pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated while trying to satisfy a craving for fast food.

Joel Gusman, 44, of 230 Genesee St., Apt. 14, Auburn, admitted he had been drinking at home on June 23 when he got hungry and attempted to drive to Taco Bell, before getting pulled over and arrested by Auburn police.

In exchange for his plea, Gusman will either receive a one to three-year prison sentence or a 16 month jail sentence when he is sentenced on Oct. 9.

* A local man pleaded guilty to felony burglary after he admitted to stealing electronic equipment from an Auburn home on Aug. 27, 2007.

Nicholas Kocur, 17, of 53 Perrine St., Auburn, will either receive a shock probation or straight probation when he is sentenced on Oct. 9. Kocur may also receive youthful offender status..

* Christopher Crofoot, 22, of 42 Frances St., Auburn, pleaded not guilty to felony criminal sale of marijuana, and criminal possession of marijuana and criminal sale of marijuana, both misdemeanors.
