The state Department of Transportation has scheduled a meeting to provide information and gather public input on a project to rehabilitate the culvert under Route 90, about .25 mile west of Powers Road in the Town of Locke.
The meeting will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Locke Town Hall, 703 Route 38. The public is invited to review the plans and meet informally with department representatives to ask questions, express concerns and provide input to be considered in the further development of the project.

The DOT is in the early stages of designing this culvert replacement project. Regular inspections have determined that the existing culvert has reached the end of its useful life. It is anticipated that the existing culvert will be replaced with a culvert of approximately the same size and at the same location.

The project will have minimal impact to traffic, as continuous two-way traffic will be maintained during construction. Construction will occur during the 2010 or 2011 construction seasons and is expected to take approximately three months to complete.

It is anticipated that the project will require some right of way acquisition from adjacent property owners.
