The New York-Penn League American League All-Stars lost in the bottom ninth on Tuesday, when Tyler Stohr of Oneonta gave up three runs. Stohr relinquished the AL's two run lead and the National League ended up on top, 4-3 at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy.
In the bottom of the fifth with both teams still scoreless, Auburn Doubledays pitcher Bobby Bell took the mound and give up a home run to the first batter he faced, Frederick Parejo of Batavia giving the NL the early 1-0 lead.
Bell finished with one hit and a run allowed with two strikeouts in the one inning pitched.
The Doubledays' Castillo Perez also saw time the third inning, collecting one walk.
In the top of the seventh, the AL rallied for the lead by earning three runs.
Caleb Joseph, of Aberdeen led off with a single, before Hudson Valley's Jason Tweedy singled and stole second, Mike Gosse of the Tigers hit an RBI single. Then, the Renegades' Anthony Scelfo was walked and Mitch Dening of the Lowell Spinners finished the inning with an RBI single.
Chase D'Arnaud of State College belted a double to lead off the ninth inning rally, Tri-City's Jack Shuck contributed an RBI single and advanced to second on a wild pitch by Stohr who followed up walking Muckdog Charles Cutler.
The Doubledays at the plate had little luck with Chris Demons, Adam Amar and Mike McDade each going 0-for-2 for the night.
Amar did win the home run derby prior to the game, however, with two big blasts.
