Runners can set off for the 5th annual Upstate Chiropractic Beaver Lake Run at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at Beaver Lake Nature Center, 8477 E. Mud Lake Road, Baldwinsville.

The event consists of 5K and 10K runs around the lake loop, as well as a 1,200-meter youth run around a loop of the Pine Meadow Trail and a 1.1-mile fun walk around a loop of the Woodland Trail. Participants will be timed with electronic chips.

Runners are prohibited from wearing shoes with spikes, veering off the trails, bringing pets or bicycles or taking strollers on any events aside from the Fun Walk. The trails are also not conducive to wheelchairs.

Registration for the race is $15 in advance and $20 that day, beginning at 8 a.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Beaver Lake Nature Center, and a portion of the fee is tax deductible.

Bagels will be provided by Panera Bread and drinks will be supplied by Red Bull.
