Open Letter to our Congressional Delegation: On the opening day of the Olympics, Georgian President Saakashvili broke an agreed upon two-week truce with South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Georgia is and has been opposed to the democratic process by which peoples have the right to self-determination. How can you trust a man who dishonors agreements, and in a surprise attack overruns the tiny nations, where incidentally Russian peacekeepers were stationed. What in the world are we doing materially supporting these kinds of countries? France brokered a cease fire between Georgia and Russia. Yet, Bush when he returned from China was persuaded by the New World Order advisors to confront Russia under the guise of sending humanitarian aid by sending naval vessels and cargo planes to Georgia. We already have 1,500 U.S. troops stationed in Georgia.
Before this situation turns to a flash point resulting in a first--ever war with Russia, we need to yank them out and send them to Afghanistan to track down Bin Laden or better yet bring them back home where they belong. You congressmen/women need to find a way to cut off this road to another costly Cold War that could turn hot - very hot - for you and I.
Take the wise advice of George Washington and stay out of this and other foreign entanglements. In particular get our troops out of Georgia and all other countries of the world. We do not desire our country to be the new Roman Empire nor to be used by oil cartels to enhance their bottom line. If we set a good example other dictatorships will follow our lifestyle without use of force just as the Soviet Union did, the most powerful military power in the world.
