The Doubledays fell to the Brooklyn Cyclones, 9-1, Thursday night with some issues on the mound and four costly errors.

Josh Wells suffered his third loss, giving up four runs in the second inning to put the Cyclones in an early lead. By the bottom of the second the Doubledays were down, 4-1.
Leading the Cyclones at the plate in the second inning was Jose Jimenez who led off with a single, Eric Campbell singled to right field, Cesar Cordido was walked, Kirk Nieuwenhuis belted an RBI single to bring in Jimenez, while Campbell and Seth Williams hit an RBI double to bring in Cordido and Nieuwenhuis to end the scoring rally.
The only run for the Doubledays came off a home run by Brian Van Kirk, his fourth of the season, in the bottom of the second frame.
Evan Crawford replaced Wells on the mound to start the fourth inning, only allowing one hit that inning and striking out the side in the fifth.
Matt Daly allowed another run in the seventh bringing the score, 6-1.
Justin Cryer came in to replace Crawford in the top of the eighth to close the game and gave up four hits and three runs in the eighth, sealing the deal for the Cyclones with a 9-1 lead.
Leading Brooklyn's offensive effort was Nieuwenhuis who earned four hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Also at the plate for the Cyclones was Williams going 3-for-6 with a double and three RBIs and Cordido went 3-for-4 with a double.
Pacing the Doubledays bats was Van Kirk who went 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI. The other Auburn hit came from Christopher Demons.
Bradley Holt recorded the win for the Cyclones only allowing three hits, one run and striking out eight.
