The Auburn Doubledays had the opportunity to pick up two wins for the price of one, but could only manage a split with the Batavia Muckdogs.
Auburn won a makeup game from July 20, 2-1, but Batavia took the night cap, 1-0.
In the first game, the Doubledays got RBIs from Bartolo Nicolas and Adam Amar while Daniel Farquhar pitched 5 1-3 shutout innings to record the win. Bobby Bell earned his third save of the season.
In the second game, the Muckdogs' Arquimedes Nieto, Joshua Hester and Adam Riefer completely shut down the Doubledays, combining to allow just three hits in seven shutout innings.
Matt Wright picked up the loss for Auburn, allowing one run and five hits while striking out four in five innings. Reliever Matt Daly pitched a scoreless inning.
Auburn (29-19) now sits 1.5 games behind Jamestown int he Pinckney Division. The Doubledays return to Falcon Park today for a 7 p.m. game against Batavia.
