LAKE GEORGE - An underage driver faces drunk driving charges after a late-night crash killed a 20-year-old woman near Lake George.
Police say a car driven by 19-year-old Cortney LaCarte skidded off the road about 11:30 Sunday night and rolled over against an embankment in the Adirondack Mountain town about 60 miles north of Albany.
Police say she was driving too fast.
Nancy Commarto died in the crash. LaCarte and Michael Ehle, 21, were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Ehle was partially ejected from the vehicle. LaCarte was pulled from the crash by a passer-by.
None of the young people wore a seat belt.
LaCarte was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, speeding, and failure to wear seat belt.
