The Auburn 10- and 11-year-old All-Stars defeated Cortlandt 8-7 on Monday to advance to the state finals today in the Bronx.

Auburn plays Colonie at 5:30 p.m., a team it lost to earlier in the tournament. Auburn has to beat Colonie twice to claim the state title.

The All-Stars surrendered seven runs in the bottom of the first inning but shut down Cortlandt the rest of the game.

Hunter Charles only gave up one hit after the first inning and Tommy Herbert delivered a clutch two-run triple.
