In the last month we've seen the Department of Environmental Conservation respond within hours to spills of hydraulic fluid and fuel oil in Owasco Lake. Clearly these contaminants are threats to the lake and its inhabitants.

Over the course of the past two years I have resided in Auburn and have had several encounters with unleashed animals while walking my leased dog. The majority of the dogs that have attacked my dog have been pitt bulls, also known as, bull terriers.

I am very concerned about the degradation of Owasco Lake in recent years, and the situation is continuously getting worse. The main cause of this is the amount of phosphorous being discharged into Owasco Lake from the village of Groton's Wastewater Treatment plant.
