Leance Soto ripped his second home run of the season and Adam Amar had another multi-RBI evening, but the Auburn Doubledays fell to Williamsport 5-4 in 10 innings on Thursday.
The Crosscutters got the better of the Doubledays for the first time this season on a one-out Cody Overbeck RBI single to score Brandon Haislet.
Justin Cryer suffered his third loss of the season after just 2 2-3 innings on the mound. Matt Wright started well for Auburn, striking out seven, walking just two and allowing two hits in four innings. He allowed just one run before Danny Farquhar permitted three in the seventh to put the Crosscutters up 4-2.
In the eighth, Chris Demons scored on one of three Williamsport errors and Amar brought in Mike McDade to tie the score 4-4.
With a Jamestown loss and a Batavia win, the Doubledays (24-16) remain two games behind the Pinckney Division leaders, but one game behind the Muckdogs.
