But the first-place Jamestown Jammers roughed up Matt Daly and Daniel Farquhar in their final at-bat to pull out the 8-7 win Monday.
With Auburn leading 7-5, Justin Bass delivered an RBI double and later scored on a Farquhar wild pitch. Jamestown's Kevin Mattison scored the winning run on a single and a throwing error by Farquhar.
With the loss, the Doubledays fall four games back of the Jammers.
Auburn wasted two-hit performances by Mike McDade, Adam Amar, Mark Sobolewski and Jon Del Campo.
Auburn's RBIs came from Chris Demons, Luis Rivera, Sobolewski, Del Camp and Brian Van Kirk.
Del Campo finished with two doubles on the night. Daly picked up the loss and Farquhar got a blown save.
Ben Lasater and Robert Taylor homered for Jamestown.
