ELBRIDGE -- An Elbridge man is accused of killing his parents at their rural property and dumping his mother's body in a septic tank.
Joseph Bisesi III was arraigned late Tuesday night in Elbridge Town Court on a charge of first-degree murder. According to court documents, the 27-year-old Bisesi fatally shot 54-year-old Joseph Bisesi Jr. and 53-year-old Jo Ellen Bisesi Sunday night in their family home in Elbridge.
Authorities say the slayings weren't discovered until a relative showed up Tuesday afternoon and saw the elder Bisesi's body in the yard. State police say they found the mother's body in the septic tank.
The younger Bisesi is being held without bail.
Bisesi III lived at the 5879 Sandbank Road residence with his parents.
On Tuesday, state police were only confirming that they were investigating the suspicious death of an adult male whose body was found in the side yard of the home.
Earlier in the day, police said Joseph M. Bisesi III was cooperating with the investigation.
Reports from the scene late Tuesday night indicated two medical examiner
vehicles and a backhoe were leaving the area, but police were offering no additional details.
The home was located in a quiet rural area, where the houses were separated by large trees and foliage, about two miles down the road from the Elbridge state police station off of Route 5.
Troopers quickly responded to the call and set up road blocks. They taped off the area while they conducted the investigation.
The crime scene engulfed a roughly 100-yard radius around the house, including one of the next door neighbor's yards.
