The Auburn Police Department responded to 2,051 calls for service in June, 156 of which resulted in an arrest. Police had previously responded to 2,026 calls in May and made 112 arrests.
Officials said police typically expect calls to increase during the summer months because of the weather and school vacations.

In June, police investigated 16 assaults, one robbery, 29 burglaries, 23 drug offenses and 13 sex violations, and they executed 20 warrants

The department also conducted several road patrols targeting aggressive driving. These officers would not respond to routine calls and instead focused on enforcing vehicle traffic laws such as driving while intoxicated, illegal use of a cell phone and speeding and seat belt violations.

The city's detective bureau also saw increased action, as it was assigned 64 new cases and closed 57 old ones. In May, detectives received 56 cases while closing 55.
