If you ever work for the city of Auburn or Cayuga County, for that matter any government agency, you're on a slippery slope, if you blow the whistle on what you feel may be a malfeasance (abuse of power).
I know what you're going to say: There's a law protecting whistleblowers. Be real, this is the status quo. In the July 12 issue of The Citizen, front page, “Whistleblowers lawsuit tossed.” It all started with the asbestos removal from the election board building. Someone conveniently forgot a county official ordered the asbestos removal. Someone has already gone to jail. A. Garropy, the whistleblower, has been fired. He subsequently filed the lawsuit, but he waited too long.
Time is up. In the political arena there are times when you're right, and times when you're wrong. When you play the game with the big boys, you've got to know the rules.

It is clearly an injustice to one person!
It is very clear one person the was cities scapegoat!
AS OLD AS many of the buildings are in Auburn--there is no doubt there would be asbestos in all of them!
Which makes it a total city cover-up! In trying to save dollars by not hiring a professional company to remove the asbestos, and by using free labor of jailed persons; clearly BAD city officials!
The whistleblower blower should be suing the lawyers for giving him bad advice on the rules of filing.
Somewhere there is a paper trail on this whole issue, all idiots leave one,
I am also willing to bet there is a secretary or two THAT KNOWS more than she wants to "whistleblow" right now.. "
