The New York State Police arrested numerous people for alcohol related crimes Saturday near the Thruway interchange in Weedsport after they beefed up their road patrols in central New York in anticipation of the weekend's events, troopers said.
The arrests came as people flocked to the state thruway to travel to the K-Rockathon concert in Weedsport, the Syracuse Nationals car show and an event at the Turning Stone Casino, troopers said.
The following people were charged:
*Marion W. Josylon, 37, of 716 Tracy St., Utica, is accused of having a .09 BAC after troopers stopped him for a traffic violation at the Weedsport Interchange, Exit 40. He was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
*Bretta J. Russell, 29, of 716 Tracy St., Utica, was charged with the unlawful possession of marijuana and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance , after police stopped his friend, Marion W. Josylon.
*Bryan R. Daoust, 20, of 1966 Randallsville Road., Hamilton, Jacob T. Lamb, 20, of 31 W. Kendrick Ave., Hamilton, and an unidentified 16-year-old female, were charged with unlawful possession of an alcoholic beverage while under the age of 21. Police pulled the group over after they allegedly saw one of the passengers with an open container near the Weedsport Interchange, Exit 40.
*Richard G. Desalvo, 22, of 2 Reagal Place, New Hartford, was arrested on a unlawful possession of marijuana charge after he was pulled over for allegedly having an open container at the Weedsport Interchange, Exit 40.
*Ryan M. Goodwin, 19, and Phillip M. Case, 18, both of 765 East Ave., Hilton were accused of possessing and alcoholic beverage while under the age of 21 near the Weedsport Interchange, Exit 40.
*Christopher R. Freitag, 26, of 6112 Cobblestone Drive, apartment 4, Cicero, was charged with driving while intoxicated at Weedsport Interchange, Exit 40. Troopers accused Freitag of driving with a .12 BAC
*Santana L. Crawford, 21, of 3216 Lords Hill Road., Nedrow, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after troopers pulled her over because a front seat passenger was not wearing a seat belt. Crawford is accused of driving with a .2 BAC at the Weedsport Interchange, Exit 40.
