Ready for games

John Tehan will join a list of local competitors in the Empire State Games next week. A junior at Auburn High School, Tehan will be competing in the Scholastic Division for the swimming competition.

He will swim in the 2000m, 800m and the mile swim. The events start off with an opening ceremony at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at Binghamton University Soccer Stadium.

Swimming doesn't have any pre-spring training sessions for the Empire State games so Tehan has had to find his own time to work on placing better then his eighth place finish last year in the finals at the games.
