Kyle Walter pitched well in relief, but Bobby Bell put forth three spectacular innings as the Auburn Doubledays took the series with Hudson Valley on Friday, by a 7-1 score.

In relief of Auburn starter Castillo Perez. who also pitched well in 4 1-3 innings, Walter got his third win in just 1 2-3 innings of work, as the Doubledays offense provided the necessary runs.

Bell then earned his second save of the season by striking out five in three innings. The trio allowed just three Renegades hits overall.

The Doubledays racked up 13 hits, led by leadoff batter Chris Hopkins, third baseman Mark Sobolewski and catcher Karim Turkamani, who each had three hits. Turkamani brought in two runs as well.

After falling in the bottom of the ninth to the Renegades on Thursday, Auburn struck first, scoring three runs in the second to take a lead that it would never relinquish.

Defensively, Hudson Valley committed three errors behind a host of pitchers. Shane Dyer suffered his second loss of the season, lasting just two innings on the mound.
