A Baldwinsville man was arrested at his seasonal Cato residence Saturday following a 16-hour standoff with authorities.
Robert C. Putzer, 49, of 7782 Barbara Lane, Baldwinsville, was arrested at 326 Fire Lane 13, Cato, following a dispute with his neighbor, the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office said. Putzer surrendered at 10:20 a.m.
The original complaint came through Cayuga County's 911 center at 5:41 p.m. Friday
There was no violence, Cayuga County Sheriff's Office Lt. Michael J. Wellauer said, though Putzer did have a weapon. Wellauer declined to say what type of weapon Putzer had, but did say it was not a firearm, Wellauer said.
The sheriff's office communicated throughout the night and into the morning with Putzer until his surrender.
He was arraigned on an arrest warrant issued out of the Town of Conquest Court. Bail was set at $2,500 cash, $5,000 bond. Putzer is expected to make bail, Wellauer said.
Putzer was arraigned on several misdemeanor charges: second-degree menacing with a weapon; third-degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest, fourth-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by state police, the Cato Fire Department, and Jordan Ambulance. The sheriff's office asks anyone who witnessed the incident to contact detectives at 253-1610.
