Last Thursday night a friend and I attended the Joe Whiting concert at Casey Park.
What a fiasco! There were no directions as to where exactly the performance would take place at Casey Park. We drove around for half-an-hour trying to find the location.
What was more confusing was the fact that there was a Christian music concert in the same area, set up at Falcon Park.
When we were finally able to find the location, the ground was so hilly that you were taking your life in your hands to get to the location - which turned out to be under the enclosure where the picnic tables are located.
There were maybe 50 people attending who were able to traverse the grounds, when normally there are over 150 people at the concerts at Hoopes Park.
I spoke with Mr. Leogrande, who was good enough to hand out the programs, and he said there had been complaints as to “why are all the concerts held in the east end?” and consequently some are scheduled for Casey this summer.
He also indicated he had had complaints from those who wanted to attend and either couldn't find the place or weren't able to get to the location.
If anyone were the least bit handicapped, i.e. bad knees, couldn't walk very far, were wheelchair bound or used a walker, they never could have made it to that location.
Please continue the great concerts at Hoopes Park where easy access is available and many more people can attend, rather than at Casey Park.
The facilities there just do not satisfy the requirements for attendance by many.
