Leaving a legacy
In a place where it can be easily found, Dave Moskov has kidded around with athletic director Tam Ray that he has tucked away a dated envelope.
The Auburn High School football coach isn't taking any chances. Just in case, he jokes, that anything happens to him over the next 20 years, Moskov wants to make sure that Matt Hoey's nomination for the Auburn High School Hall of Fame will be found.
Hoey has a special place in the storied history of the Maroons football program, one that will remain fresh in the minds of Auburnians and will probably be talked about at sports bars and class reunions for decades to come. As a junior, Hoey kicked the extra point that won the Maroons their first NYSPHAA Class AA championship in front of over 10,000 maroon-clad fans at the Carrier Dome in 2006.
