The Doubledays' offensive woes continue.

Aberdeen's Richard Zagone scattered three hits in five innings and struck out seven in a 10-1 win over Auburn Thursday.

The Doubledays dropped their fifth straight game and also failed to score more than two runs for the fifth straight time.

Starter Evan Crawford tried to end the skid, but lasted just 2-3 innings, giving up two hits, four earned runs and one walk.

Waldon pitched 4 1-3 innings in relief, allowing seven hits, three earned runs while striking out two.

The Doubledays didn't score until the seventh inning, when Adam Amar led off with his seventh double of the year. Luis Rivera pinch ran for Amar and later scored on a Michael McDade RBI ground-out. Amar led the Doubledays with two hits, while the team managed a total of four.

The Ironbirds scored three runs in the eighth off reliever Kyle Walter. Walter spent three innings on the mound, allowing two hits, three runs, of which only two were earned.

Auburn (12-11) tries to avoid its second straight series sweep today in Aberdeen.
