Duger leads Cubs to win over Orioles

Hunter Duger stopped the charging Tim's Power Washing and Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Cubs to keep the Tru-Cut Technology Orioles on top as they won, 19-18 in the Auburn Boys and Girls Baseball action.
Duger hustled the last three outs and tallied up nine total outs to keep the Orioles in front. Trenton Quinn, Bradley Lawrence, Mathew Mosher and Daniel Cornelius kept runners from advancing with sensational outfield defense.

Matthew Fritz, Gregory Baumes, Kaelyn Stanton and Leah Van Ostrand played solid infield, Dakota Lupien played well in catcher position.

Stanton led the Orioles at the plate with five RBIs while Kaleb Fasce, Paige Lincoln, Clay Van Ostrand and Emma Donovan each added one RBI.

Pacing the Cubs was Nathan Serling who recorded a single, double and triple, Claire Schniener belted three hits and Ryan Bochenek contributed two hits.

LITTLE LEAGUE

Nucor 8, Tinkers 4

Aaron Messina, Justin Valentino and Erik Baim combined on the mound for Nucor throwing 11 strikeouts.

At the plate for Nucor, Aric Iaia earned a single and an inside the park home run, John Rizzo had a single and a double, Jack Hensel, Aaron Messina and Cody Ladisair all roped two hits apiece while Justin Valentino finished with a single.

Baim, Rizzo and Christian Bozek all played well defensively for Nucor.

Pitching for Tinkers was Tommy Alexander and Paul Musso.

Pacing Tinkers was Matt Brooks who roped a triple and Chris Stoddard belting a single.

Kevin Talbot, Alex Wilczek and Jonathan Eldred played key defensive roles for Tinkers.

Auburn 9, Geneva 3

Cody Ladisair pitched a complete game, five-hitter while going perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with two doubles and two RBIs on the 12-year old All Star team.

Matt Brooks also batted 2-for-2 with one double while Jake Cooney was 2-for-3 adding one RBI to lead Auburn. Jim Cady and John Rizzo with one hit and one RBI apiece while Conor Herr belted one hit and two RBIs to help the Auburn offense.

Mike Gentile played excellent defense as catcher for Auburn.
