Auburn native Greg Downing, a midfielder for the Los Angeles Riptide, was selected to play in the seventh annual Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game, July 17 at Denver's INVESCO Field at Mile Hile.
League all-stars are selected by head coaches, general managers and players.
Downing will play for the Western Conference All-Star team and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
Downing, the sixth overall pick in the 2007 MLL Collegiate Draft, led all rookies in scoring last season (seven goals, seven assists) and is putting together an impressive sophomore campaign with 10 goals and three assists through the first six games.
