The state Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that a three-week detour will begin next week around part of Route 38 in Conquest.
Beginning Wednesday, July 9, Route 38 will be closed in both directions for culvert replacement between Spring Lake Road and Fuller Road in the Town of Conquest. The following detour for through traffic is anticipated to be in place for about three weeks:
Southbound through traffic: turn east on Route 370 then south on Route 34, then west on Route 31 to the intersection with Route 38 in Port Byron.
Northbound through traffic: turn east on Route 31 in Port Byron, then north on Route 34, then west on Route 370 to the intersection with Route 38 in Victory.
Local traffic will be able to proceed to, but not through, the work zone during the project.
Southbound through traffic: turn east on Route 370 then south on Route 34, then west on Route 31 to the intersection with Route 38 in Port Byron.
Northbound through traffic: turn east on Route 31 in Port Byron, then north on Route 34, then west on Route 370 to the intersection with Route 38 in Victory.
Local traffic will be able to proceed to, but not through, the work zone during the project.
