PERRY, N.Y. - Syracuse lacrosse coach John Desko has been selected as the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division I Coach of the Year.
Desko guided the Orange men to their record 10th NCAA title in 2008 and fourth in his tenure.
Desko joins former Syracuse head coach Roy Simmons Jr. (1980) as the only Morris Touchstone Award honorees in program history.
Syracuse finished with a 16-2 record after defeating Johns Hopkins 13-10 in the championship game.
Syracuse won the title a year after going 5-8 and failing to make the NCAA tournament, matching the biggest turnaround in Division I history.
