Gatewood pitches Stanton to victory

Eric Gatewood earned the win with three strikeouts as Stanton Automatics defeated Angelo's 7-5 in Auburn Little League Baseball action Monday.

Tommy Herbert also earned three strikeouts and Cody Mitchell picked up the save with three strikeouts for Stanton.

Mitchell led at the plate with a double and two RBIs for Stanton while Jake O'Hearn, Herbert and Chris Newert each contributed singles.

Pitching for Angelo's was T.J. Sochan who finished with seven strikeouts and Jay Wilkes added two strikeouts.

Matt Carberry and Kevin Dicola each recorded a double for Angelo's.

Stanton Automatics 10, Auburn Police Department 3

Colin Mitchell recorded four strikeouts and Cody Mitchell added three for Stanton.

Stephen Giannotta had three hits and two RBIs, Eric Gatewood hit a triple and two RBIs, Jake O'Hearn added a single and one RBI and Colin Mitchell, Malcom Kellogg and Tommy Herbert each contributed hits.

Jack Hogan pitched for the Auburn Police Department, throwing six strikeouts while Ed Bauso led at the plate with two hits.

BOYS AND GIRLS LEAGUE

Daut's Braves 15, Auburn Firefighters Royals 10

Leading the Braves with two hits apiece was Meghan Wiseman, Luke Moell, James Roeschlaub, Morgan Thompson, Owen Spearing, Madison Stevens, Marlee Solomon and Jack Moochler.

C.J. Spisak, Griffin Dautrich, Emma Solomon and Stevens all contributed on the Braves' defense.

Pacing the Royals at the plate was Katie Donovan, Brendan Williams, Eric Donovan and Carly Dolan, belting three hits each.

Daut's Braves 14, Children's Health Specialists Marlins 10

Griffin Dautrich, Owen Spearing, John Malandruccolo and Marley Plish contributed three hits each while Emma Solomon, Morgan Thompson, Marlee Solomon and Madison Stevens added two hits each. Meghan Wiseman, C.J. Spisak, Jack Moochler and Zack Mock all played well for the Braves in the field.

Kaleb Cook, Danielle Russo and Ryan Spalding paced the Marlins, earning three hits apiece while Sara Russo performed well on defense.
