SYRACUSE -- Syracuse University is extending Chancellor Nancy Cantor's contract for another four years.
Cantor was hired to head SU in 2004 and her contract was scheduled to end in 2010. The new deal extends the job to 2014.
John Chapple, chairman of the university's Board of Trustees, says the extension recognizes Cantor's dynamic leadership and vision.
Chapple notes record-setting enthusiasm for the university's current $1 billion capital campaign. In just eight months, the university has raised more than $560 million. He also says Syracuse has had a record number of applications each year for the past three years.
Last week, Cantor received the Carnegie Corporation's 2008 Academic Leadership Award.
