Long detours to get to and from Seneca County are now over.
The state Department of Transportation said Monday its overnight work has concluded on the bridge carrying state Routes 5 and 20 over the Cayuga Lake Outlet. The work had forced the bridge to be closed during night time hours, forcing travelers to take alternative routes.

The DOT said that while the work is finished, motorists this week may see some shoulder closures as equipment is removed.

"NYSDOT wishes to express its appreciation to the traveling public for its cooperation and patience while this necessary work was carried out," a press release from the agency stated.
