With two outs, Andrew Biela earned a walk-off single to score Jordy Mercer in the bottom of the 11th inning to see State College hand the Auburn Doubledays their first loss of the season on Saturday.
It was also the first win of the year for the struggling Spikes.
The Doubledays managed just four hits in the 2-1 defeat.
The Spikes, who had eight hits, struck first in the fourth when Calvin Anderson earned an RBI single to bring in Silvio Pena.
Auburn answered right back though, when Bryan Kervin singled to score Carlos Vasquez with two outs in the fifth inning.
Each squad sent four pitchers on to the hill, with another great set of performances from the Doubledays' staff.
Castillo Perez started well, striking out seven and allowing four hits in five innings of work. Next up was Jay Monti and Dan O'Brien, who each lasted two innings and throwing one strikeout apiece.
Frank Gailey earned his first loss of the season, lasting 2 2-3 innings, striking out two and allowing two hits.
The Spikes' first two throwers, William Kelly and Kyle McPherson each lasted four innings and threw four strikeouts combined.
Alan Knotts got the win, striking out three in two innings.
Once again, the Doubledays could not manage a late game hit. After Kervin's single in the fifth, Auburn didn't earn another for the rest of the game.
Kervin belted two hits to pace Auburn's offense, while Vasquez and Leance Soto - both returning players from h 2007 team - each got a hit.
The Doubledays (4-1) finish up their series in State College (1-3) before returning home Monday.
