" Change for change sake could just as easily be change for the worse. I have been finding it odd all along that so many politicians harp on the term "Change" as that in an of itself were desired. People desire change FOR THE BETTER, not just change. In fact, most people prefer not to have to change -- things have to be lousy to have so many people wanting change so badly:

" Does anybody know what’s going on with the city brush/grass pickup? I put out 2 small bags of grass clippings for 2 weeks in a row and it was not picked up. I first put it in a trash can, then small clear bags; still it was not picked up. Update: I called the refuse pickup department and this is what they said. The brush /grass clippings will be picked up every 2 months and the only thing we can do it we want to get rid of it now is to go to the dump pay 20.00 for a sticker and dispose of it for free. I wonder if this is a taxpayer/city manager trickery issue.
City hall probably thinks 2 months is too long to wait for most homeowners to wait “I am one of them” to get rid of the brush, because it starts to stink, it’s in the way, etc. The home owner then goes to the dump using their own transportation and gas, pays the 20.00 and gets rid of it. Cons for the taxpayer paying another 20.00 on top of our outrageous taxes, taking it to the dump at our expense. Pro’s for the city, gets an extra 20.00 from us and doesn’t have to pick it up at our residence saving the city time and gas. What do you think? "

" Oil futures are usually bought 5 years in advance. They are priced upon future forecasting, therefore drilling now could possibly make a difference. The main reason I want to drill here is that it will increase the amount of oil in domestic production. We use 20 million bpd we produce only 6 million bpd. Even with conservation and alternate energy initiative we still have a huge difference to make up.

Anyone that reads on here knows that I'm probaaly the biggest proponent of green technologies that comes on here. Producing more of our own oil, natural gas, and coal is key to the future of our economy. You can't forsake green for fossil its not an all or nothing situation. We need as much of both as we can possibly get.

Thee rest of the world is quietly laughing at us as they watch us spend money hand over fist to other countries for something (fossil fuels) that we have some of the biggest reserves in the world of.
