Auburn schools need new top leadership

Saturday, June 21, 2008 11:38 PM EDT

I was just informed that JD Pabis will be dropping the summer school program and other programs that are designed to help the children in need.
Instead of reducing his bloated administrators budget he is cutting programs that will hurt the kids.

This latest attack by JD Pabis only demonstrates the need for new leadership, in both the superintendent and the school board.

" to cut taxes, you must cut something, did you really think they would be cutting administrators? get your head out of your buns! programs are going to be cut, YOU VOTED DOWN THE BUDGET! "

" The "for the kids" thing is great until it starts hitting the administrators it their own backyards, then the true colors come out. They are there solely for themselves. Don't believe otherwise. It's the "good 'ol boy" system at work, and has been for a long time. "

" Jerry, you warned us about how things would be with Mr. Pabis, and it looks like you might be right. "

" Well said! The mantra "It's for the kids" seems to have fallen by the way side. Now it's "we will show them who we are."

True commitment to education hasn't existed in this district for a long time. The leadership capabilities have been sorely lacking and the results are in the state's critique of our tests results, graduation rate, and our drop out rate.
The elitist attitude of the superintendent and his board, have separated them from the teachers who they need to produce positive results. And the public, who they need to finance a failing educational system "
