Auburn Police were kept busy overnight investigation a stabbing and home invasion.
The stabbing took place around 2 a.m. Friday, on Franklin Street, Auburn. A 33-year-old man was stabbed in the back and transported to University Hospital in Syracuse. His condition was listed as fair this morning.
The police are also looking for a male suspect in a home invasion/burglary that was reported about 2:30 a.m. Friday by an 87 year-old victim who woke to find someone in her home on Olympia Avenue in Auburn. When the police arrived, they discovered that in addition to some items taken from the home, the woman's 1998 tan Buick Century was missing. The plate number is 518238, and is a handicapped plate. The woman was not hurt in the incident.
“This makes us alert to the fact that something unusual is taking place. We don't like these things taking place in our community,” said Det. Doug Parker.
He is asking anyone with information about either of these crimes to call 255-4726.

For those that want to aid others-purchase some inexpensive door/window alarms and donate them to those that ask or elderly that should have.
If you have the time-istall them. They basically either hang on the door or there are sticky ones that secure to the doors/windows.
The cheap alarms also work great if you have a toddler and any kind of a pool.
You will know by this loud Siren when the door opens! "
