Sadly, the Lord is not winning battle vs. evil

Tuesday, June 17, 2008 11:38 AM EDT

Ah, yes, everyday living. What does everyday living entail? It entails either doing the work of the Lord, doing the work of the devil or doing neither. Without question doing the work of the Lord isn't easy.
Certainly doing the work of the devil is easier because anything goes. Doing neither is right in the middle and failing relative to the Lord's plea “follow me.”

Take a good look at the good ol' USA and put it in proper perspective as to who's presently winning the battle between good and evil. There can be little doubt that the devil is presently in the driver's seat.

The poor are still poor. The rich are still getting richer. Unnecessary wars are being fought.

Unnecessary deaths and suffering continue daily. Who's doing anything about it? Not enough, of course, to make anything positive happen about anything.

Man's self-centeredness without question is the root of the problem. It's all about being No. 1. But no man (woman) who calls themselves Christian should ever put themselves above God.

Oh, of course, man's (woman's) answer is always “I don't.” It's an untruthful answer because they do. If they were following in the Lord's footsteps, they wouldn't be so wrapped up in materialism and always thinking about themselves and the hell with everyone else. The way a person drives a car shows that person lacks patience.

The neighbor who rants and raves to a neighbor over some trivial matter shows unnecessary mean spiritedness. The person who's overly serious and goes around with a long face all the time certainly isn't spreading good cheer.

Without question after 2008 years, the Lord should be winning the battle of good vs. evil. Very sadly that's not the case. Surely that makes him very sad. But quite obviously after 2008 years, change isn't coming anytime soon.

Well, it's official: Murray has finally gone senile. "

" i have read your letters over the years and i dare say that without fail they are full of negative comments and complaints so i find it quite humorous that you also whine that good cheer should be spread. to that i say har-de-har. "
