Union Springs senior Mike Howell was crowned the Division 2 high jump champion at the New York State Track and Field Champions at the University of Buffalo, Saturday,
Howell (6-4) finished seventh overall, including Division 1 competition.
Howell, with a jump of 6-0 was crowned the Section IV, Class C high jump champion earlier this season at Binghamton. He also tied for first in the Section IV state qualifier (6-4) with Chenango Valley's John Foley at Vestal High School.
Lisa Kimak, a sophomore at Jordan-Elbridge, took 24th in the girls pentathlon with a score of 1,320. Her score for the three events were a 414 in the 100m hurdles, a 534 for the high jump and a 372 in the shot put.
